Miscellany.

* Marched in the Seattle Dyke March; a small group of good company surrounded by a much larger crowd of...less good company. Feel oddly alienated now. Wondering who my actual peers are.

* Trying to explain my various career ambitions to someone earlier this week, I realized that really, deep down I just want to be Buckaroo Banzai.

* Am shortly going to be attempting to construct a soy version of Chunky Monkey.

* Considering seeing Wall-E tomorrow, because my life needs more robots in it. Anyone else interested?

Buckaroo Banzai is indeed worthy of emulation. :)

I might be up for Wall-E, if it's in the late evening...

Yay. I am currently leaning towards Pac Place, 9:20pm. Would that work for you?

I think that would. Do you need to know by a certain time?

Nah, no worries either way. Just give me a call whenever.

Let's do the 9:20? If you come over to our place, there will be ice cream first... :)

Okey-doke! I am about to head out for dinner with Juli and Corvi, so no ice cream for me, sadly, but I'll meet you at Pac-Place! Do you have my number? I seem to have yours.

Yes, I have some number that claims to be yours. I'll see you there!

(Are you dragging them along???)

Er...scratch that, it looks like instead I will be meeting them after the movie for a late dinner. So we could still meet up at your place before, if you like.

Militant lesbians set off my oogie factor like few other people.

I'm about as dykley as they come and even I feel alienated at the Dyke March. At this point it's mostly an opportunity to play "Spot the Ex."

Dykley! That's a great word.

I was wondering what your take on it would be. It seemed really...tacky. There was a lot of peer pressure from the organizers trying to encourage people to take off their shirts. And a lot of random meaningless woo-ing at whoever happened to be on the sidewalk.

Thank you, I like it myself. I originally started using it to describe fashion choices, i.e. "cute and dykley." Feel free to use it any time you can work it in.

The shirt thing is at least a bit more interesting than year after year hearing those people yell into the mic about the plight of Lesbian Latino farm workers and unionization. The topic is important, but seriously, year after fucking year. The whole thing is tired, except for the chance to look at a high concentration of dykes.

How about organizing women to rally around something that affects a lot more people, like breast cancer. It would make sense to encourage women to take off their shirts is you're talking about breasts too. See how it could come together?

It's supposed to be a political rally, so how about more non-profits recruiting for volunteers. That would be a good change.

Personally, I'd like to see a version of The Dating Game happen in between speakers.
