Supposedly Phil has been around for 120 years. Ceremonial title, or lots of regenerations?

Brain Comics #224

The Brain Comics RSS feed has a new URL! The old one stopped working a while ago. Mind you, I imagine this isn't particularly newsworthy for those of you getting your updates through LJ. But still.

New story! Finally!

Preview slice of the linked comic

The Angels of Death - Page 1

This is a new comic I'm doing for a while! While it's going on, I'm going to run it on Tuesdays and Brain Comics on Thursdays. I hope you enjoy it! I've had a lot of fun drawing it.

Warmup sketch and preview

Tonight's warmup sketch:

Woman with grin looking off to one side, with long hair in bun held in place by pins and black ribbon thing. Wearing some sort of turtle-neck-y shirt.

I wasn't really intending to draw anyone in particular, but I think I may have inadvertently sketched Captain Janeway.

Here's a preview of my actual work from tonight:

Man with long hair and robe. He is crouching, one hand on cheek, and saying something over his shoulder. He has a grouchy expression on his face.

So moody! I love getting to draw this particular character.

Do Not Try This At Home

Brain Comics #223

I actually drew this a while back for a friend's presentation! But I figured I'd share it with you guys.

Brief comic hiatus and exciting news in the world of cannon science!

No comic this week; I'm working furiously on getting a new, non-Brain Comics story together that will start early next year! It'll be a serial comic, and it'll run concurrently with Brain Comics for a few months. Brain Comics will return next week.

But! I will instead share with you what is possibly one of the best Christmas gifts anyone could have given me this year, given that no one was hurt:

Los Alamos National Laboratory Researchers Accidentally Blow up Building with a Cannon

Thanks to [info]rm for the link. The best quote:
"I must say that this is a new twist in the long history of screw-ups by Los Alamos," said POGO’s Senior Investigator, Peter Stockton. “I have no idea in the world why they have a gun like this, let alone testing it.”
